The Freelancer's Compass

Book Review and Book Award, Oh Mine!

It’s been an exciting month for The Freelancer’s Compass. I received my first book review — and my first award! It’s exciting to have my work validated. We write because we want to share our insights, passion, or ideas with others, but secretly (or maybe explicitly) all writers want some sort of acknowledgement that their ideas are landing.

Putting myself out there is a scary journey. As an introvert and an Enneagram type 5, I just want to live my life quietly, do my work, and stay invisible. Unfortunately for me, that’s no longer an option because I decided I want to share my ideas and experiences with “the world.” So I’m embracing this necessary step of speaking my mind publicly in hopes that what I share helps someone, even if only in a small way.

All that to say, thank you to The Pen Woman for the book review, and to The BookFest for naming The Freelancer’s Compass second-place winner in the Fall 2024 competition, Business – Enterprise category. I’m honored and stoked!
