EXCELLENTBased on 10 reviewsVerifiedcougar7up2024-10-21Extremely helpful guide If you are looking to transition away from the corporate grind but have no clue how to begin, this is the book for you. I found the Pro Tips in every chapter very helpful. The author is honest about past mistakes but offers advice on how to avoid those same mistakes for others. She also includes stories of others who have found success. Great book, and filled with a lot of solid and helpful first-hand knowledge! The book is on the shorter side too, which is also nice.VerifiedIsabelle E. Camille2024-10-20Clear guideline on how to set up a freelancer’s business It was very informative and all the advices given are clear and concise. Lots of concrete examples are given. I enjoyed reading the book very much.VerifiedLucy Arnold2024-10-15Essential and entertaining reading for freelancers! This book is not only amazingly useful and well-organized, it is also a delight to read! The author clearly has learned from her own experience, is incredibly sharp, talented, and - very importantly - wants to share what she knows. To top it all off, she does it with wicked humor! I highly recommend The Freelancer's Compass.VerifiedAmazon Customer2024-10-01Practical advice that's easy to digest and put to practice Learn from those who have been in the trenches and avoid pitfalls in your transition to entrepreneurship through this book. I especially appreciated the 3 tier-approach to cater to beginners and those seeking advanced insights on tools, roadmaps, and processes. I wish I had this book when I started my business! It won't disappoint.VerifiedDiane K. Faulkner2024-09-07A necessary book for entrepreneurs This book gets down into the nitty-gritty of everything you need to know about setting yourself up for success as a freelancer or solopreneur. No one ever tells you about this stuff when you set out on your own. Things like how to set up your infrastructure and your back-office stuff, writing your SOPs, finding tools and the importance of support systems.I bought both the Kindle version (to quickly read) and the hard copy. There's so much to highlight and tab. This is an excellent book to reference often. I keep the hard copy within reach at my desk. The author goes into how and why it's important to think or an entrepreneur, how to "show up" every day. I wish i had this book when I started out 25 years ago.VerifiedDanielle Smyth2024-09-04Rodika's Advice is Spot On! As other reviewers have said, this is the only book you'll need in navigating the transition to freelance writing. Rodika presents solid advice and has impressive experience to back it up. If you're considering a future as a writer, you should definitely read this book first.VerifiedChanoa Tarle2024-09-02No need to read another book on freelance ops — this is all you need! I started reading Rodika's book the day it was released. As a longtime freelance writer, I don't exactly need operations tips but I do know Rodika has always impressed me as a savvy and discerning business owner. Well, her book does not disappoint.Read it if you're about to go into business on your own. Read it if you're new to freelancing. Read it if you've been a solo professional for years. Just read it.The Freelancer's Compass is entertaining, informative and spot on in its recommendations, wisdom and insights. You'll also get tons of inspiration from the solo professionals she interviews throughout this read and from the resources section (where I immediately discovered my next read that I've been devouring at the same speed!).Enjoy.VerifiedBill Becker2024-08-29Blueprint for Successful Entrepreneurship Given the corporate atmosphere in today's business world, more and more people are looking to either go into business for themselves or at least start a side-gig to give themselves options. "The Freelancer's Compass" is a blueprint to making that leap successful. The beauty of this book is that not only does the author detail the exact steps to take to get started, she also includes interviews (Spotlights) with other people who have successfully transitioned from the corporate 9 to 5 life to that of a freelance entrepreneur. The book isn't all hype either, Rodika shares the hard stuff (back-end) that many first timers overlook or think they can do without. This book can change lives!
